Mianyang Science and Technology City New Area

Mianyang Science and Technology City New Area has a planned area of 396 square kilometers and nine townships (sub-districts) under its jurisdiction, with a permanent population of about 800,000. It aims to become an innovation highland in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle as well as a national city-industry integration development and innovation demonstration zone, and attempts to be an influential demonstration zone for scientific and technological innovation in China. In 2021, the new area achieved a regional GDP of about CNY 71 billion. By 2025, the functions of the new area will be basically completed.
