On July 21, the 2022 World EV & ES Battery Conference, with the theme of "Intelligent Green Power, Shared Low-carbon Future", was opened in Yibin. Approved by the State Council, the conference has been co-hosted by the People's Government of Sichuan Province and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It is the first of its kind.
The event highlights specialization, marketization and internationalization, and integrates convention, exhibition, competition and experience to display the latest achievements and reach an industry consensus in the field of EV & ES batteries. The conference will hold a series of activities such as the main forum, five sub-forums, Successful Entrepreneurs' Night, closed-door meetings, exhibitions, challenge competitions and "Yibin Online" high-end dialogue, featuring five highlights.
Important guests gather to draw a new blueprint for the industry. Nearly 800 attendees include foreign dignitaries from leading countries or regions in the global EV & ES battery industry, heads of intergovernmental international organizations, and officials of relevant Chinese ministries and commissions; heads of the industry associations in China, academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, and heads of specialized research institutions; heads of leading NEV enterprises such as BYD and NIO, as well as heads of leading EV & ES battery enterprises such as CATL, BTR and GEM.
Experts and scholars discuss together to come up with new ideas on industrial development. At the opening ceremony, the declaration of the 2022 World EV & ES Battery Conference (Yibin) will be released. Representatives of leading countries or regions in the EV & ES battery industry and representatives of leading domestic and foreign EV & ES battery and NEV enterprises will be invited to deliver keynote speeches at the main forum. Experts in coordinated efforts of governments, enterprises, universities, research institutions and consumers will be invited to discuss the frontier hot topics of the industry such as building an ecosystem of the supply chain, innovating application models and recycling at the sub-forums. At the closed-door meeting, discussion will be focused on the development status and trend, safety and technological innovation, and fluctuations of material prices of EV & ES batteries.
The event will focus on cutting-edge technologies and display new achievements in industrial application. Covering an area of about 50,000 square meters and with 287 participating enterprises, the eight exhibition zones and two characteristic exhibitions of "Time Tunnel" and "Popular Science Gallery" will center on key enterprises, core technologies and advanced products in the fields of EV & ES batteries and materials, NEVs and parts, and EV & ES battery application products. Supporting activities such as NEV test riding and driving experience, the first Yibin NEV consumption festival, and interactive science popularization will fully display cutting-edge technologies of EV & ES batteries and the latest achievements of green and low-carbon travel.
An intelligent industrial ecosystem helps create a new shared green and low-carbon future. The conference will mainly present demonstration scenarios such as heavy truck battery swapping demonstration, vehicle-road collaborative application demonstration, "carbon brain" smart platform and energy port, explore to develop a charging and battery swapping service network system, move faster to foster a new mode of electrification promotion and application, and strive to build a new urbanization pilot zone with green and low-carbon development and integrated development of industry, city and people.
Conventions and exhibitions pool resources to promote the new development of industrial ecosystem. The conference will gather innovative resources such as universities, scientific research institutions and key upstream and downstream enterprises to help build Sichuan EV & ES Battery Industry Innovation Center. The activity of Successful Entrepreneurs' Night will be held to support government- and enterprise-enterprise talks and exchanges, tap the potential industrial value, and display the whole ecosystem of the EV & ES battery industry. Investment promotion meetings will be staged and invitations will be sent to the world for cooperation to create a model for the development of the EV & ES battery industry.
According to the organizing committee of the conference, this year Yibin has signed contracts on more than 40 EV & ES battery and NEV supporting projects with a total investment exceeding 90 billion yuan. Among them, there are over 30 EV & ES battery projects.
