Chengdu Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone Enters the First Tier for the First Time in National Evaluation

Recently, China's Ministry of Commerce released the results of the "2022 Evaluation of Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zones". Among the first five batches of 105 cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones, Chengdu Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone ranked among the first tier of comprehensive pilot zones with remarkable results for the first time.

It was reported that the Ministry of Commerce assessed and evaluated 105 comprehensive pilot zones in China's top five batches based on more than 40 indicators, including plan implementation, working mechanism establishment, facilitation policy implementation, annual import and export volumes, annual export growth rates, the number of overseas warehouses established by enterprises, and industrial park construction. The evaluation results were divided into four levels: "Remarkable Results", "Good Results", "Initial Results" and "Still in the Initial Stage". A total of 10 comprehensive pilot zones ranked among the tier with "remarkable results" in this evaluation.

In 2022, the scale of cross-border e-commerce transactions in Chengdu was RMB 89.847 billion, up 31.1% year on year, accounting for 94.5% of the province's total during the same period and maintaining strong growth momentum for six consecutive years. Cross-border e-commerce has become an important starting point for the transformation and upgrading of Chengdu's foreign trade.

Next, Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce will continue to focus on the goal of "six systems and two platforms", further promote the construction of the province's cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone, continuously improve the cross-border e-commerce industrial chain and ecosystem, promote the integrated and innovative development of foreign trade business forms, models and platforms, and build the cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone into a "demonstration zone" that empowers the digital transformation of foreign trade in the province.
