On the morning of January 12, a freight train with 20 containers
departed from Western Railway Logistics Park in Suining. The train
loaded with such goods as machine parts, manufactured goods and grain
would arrive at Qinzhou, Guangxi Province, via Chongqing. Goods such as
machinery parts will be exported to Southeast Asian countries and others
will be shipped to Northeast China from Qinzhou.
This is the first New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor freight
train in Suining, marking the opening of a new direct freight
southwardcorridor to Port of Qinzhou. The freight train will run
regularly, with two trains per month initially. Depending on the
arrangement of cargo and demand, it will be gradually increased to one
train per week. Originally, it took a week for goods to travel from
Suining to Qinzhou. However, it only takes 72 hours to Beibu Gulf via
Chongqing through the road-rail-sea multimodal transport after Suining
opens its first New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor freight train.
Goods from Beibu Gulf can be exported to Southeast Asian countries and
to other places of the world, reducing logistics costs by more than 30%.
Taking the opening of the freight trainas its opportunity, Suining
will speed up its efforts to develop a national land-port logistics hub,
strive to build a modern distribution system of "corridor+hub+network",
in order to better play its role as a southward transport hub in New
International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, and to provide high-quality
services for enterprises in Suining and its surrounding areas to go
global and expand overseas markets.
Li Gang, Vice Governor of People's Government of Sichuan Province, attended the launching ceremony.
