China (Sichuan)-New Zealand Economic, Trade and Cultural Promotion Conference Successfully Held in Auckland
On April 18 (New Zealand time), China (Sichuan)-New Zealand Economic, Trade and Cultural Promotion Conference was held in Auckland, hosted by Sichuan Provincial People's Government and organized by the Economic Cooperation Bureau of Sichuan Province. The event attracted 150 plus representatives of Chinese and New Zealand governmental organizations, enterprises and business associations to attend the meeting.
At the meeting, the Economic Cooperation Bureau of Sichuan Province made a special promotion speech, introducing Sichuan's development situation, business environment and investment opportunities from several aspects such as"Omic Growth Point, Important Power Source, Industry Cluster, Tourism Destination, Preferred Investment Place", etc., and sincerely welcoming New Zealand enterprises to explore business opportunities and invest in Sichuan to share the opportunities for development and realize mutual benefits and win-win situation. It opens a new channel of cooperation, and a new space for development and expands a new field of investment for New Zealand enterprises to get to know about Sichuan and invest in Sichuan.
In the exchange of speeches, Mr. Alistair Crozier, the Executive Director of New Zealand-China Relations Promotion Committee and former Consul General of New Zealand in Chengdu, reviewed the achievements of the cooperation between New Zealand and Sichuan, introduced the solid foundation of cooperation between Sichuan and New Zealand from the perspective of potential, place and people and looked forward to the broad prospects for cooperation between the two sides, and suggested that New Zealand enterprises coming to invest in China should focus on investigating Sichuan and choosing Sichuan. Mr. Brett O'Riley, Chief Executive Officer of New Zealand Employers and Manufacturers Association (NZEMA), exchanged views on the cooperation opportunities between Sichuan and New Zealand in green development, scientific research, resource development and utilization, etc., and indicated that NZEMA would play the role of a bridge to encourage more New Zealand enterprises to come to Sichuan for site visits, exchanges and cooperation. Director of the New Zealand Zespri Group, Mr. Craig Thompson’s speech highlighted the advantages of Sichuan in the agricultural field.
After the preliminary communication and association, Sichuan and New Zealand signed eight cooperation agreements on industrial investment, import and export trade, science and technology innovation, education and talents and other fields.
